Aerobic Capacity:

This is the ability to run at a high pace for as long as possible. The state of training of the aerobic system may play a role in speed of recovery between sprints. Although there is disagreement in the role of aerobic capacity in soccer, many studies have found that elite soccer players have high scores on this trait.

Anaerobic Capacity:

This is a measure of an athlete’s ability to sprint at top speed for as long as possible. A common test for this ability is the 300 yard shuttle run. This training is directed to the immediate and short term energy systems.
